College Scholarship Program FAQ's

When can I get an application?
Applications become available by mid-January for the upcoming school year.

Is there a deadline?
Yes, April 30th. Any application received after that date will not be considered. The application must be postmarked no later then April 30th .

May I fax the application to your office?
No. Applications that are faxed will not be considered.

I understand that you administer many different scholarships. May I apply for all of them?
No, that’s not how it works. If you complete the application in its entirety, then we will be able to tell which scholarship you qualify for, if any. So essentially, you apply to the Cincinnati Scholarship Foundation, not to any particular fund.

What are the criteria for your scholarships?
Most of our scholarships are need-based. There are a few that are not. In order to be considered for all the scholarships, we suggest that the applicants submit all the necessary paperwork, as outlined on the cover letter of the application.

May I go to any school?
You may attend the college or university of your choice as long as it is a non-proprietary college.

Do I need to be full-time?
Yes, these scholarships are for full-time attendance (12 credit hours or better).

When will I find out if I qualify?
Students who qualify will be notified by mail. The awarding process takes place over the summer and sometimes goes into the school year. Recipients who have applied to renew their scholarships have first consideration. When the renewal process is complete, we’ll then know what is available for distribution to new applicants. Awarding begins around the first of the summer and goes on until the money has been distributed.
