Annual Student Awards Dinner Sponsors 2012 Mary Ronan, Cincinnati Public Schools Superintendent, Honored at Upcoming Dinner
April 13, 2012 Cincinnati, Ohio – The Cincinnati Scholarship Foundation (CSF) is pleased to honor CPS Superintendent, Mary Ronan, as their 2012 Champion of Educational Opportunity (CEO) award recipient. This award recognizes Ms. Ronan’s dedication to education in Greater Cincinnati through her work in the Cincinnati Public School system.
Please save the date, Monday, May 14, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at the Xavier University’s Schiff Family Conference Center at the Cintas Center (1624 Herald Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45207). Mary will be honored at the Cincinnati Scholarship Foundation’s Annual Student Awards Dinner, held in recognition of the hard work and dedication of the over 200 participants in the Foundation’s High School Scholarship Program. About Mary Ronan
Mary A. Ronan has devoted
more than three decades to Cincinnati Public Schools. A former math and science teacher, she has a diverse
background in administration in neighborhood and magnet school settings at both
elementary and high schools. As principal of Kilgour Elementary School, she was
honored by the U.S. Department of Education with the designation of Kilgour in
2001 as a National Blue Ribbon School. After serving as assistant
superintendent and director of schools, she was selected by the Board of
Education to become Superintendent in April 2008. Under her leadership, the
district’s lowest performing elementary schools have made significant
performance gains, and Cincinnati Public Schools became the first and only Ohio
urban district to earn an Effective rating on the Ohio Report Card for two
consecutive years.
