Don Greer passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on June 14, 2011 at the young age of 48. Don was passionate about life and everything he loved—his family, fiancée, friends, skiing, the Cincinnati Reds, his job at Calvert Wire & Cable, horse racing, and The Heritage Club in Mason, Ohio.

Don lived most of his life in Cincinnati. His parents joined The Heritage Club as Charter members in 1996 and Don joined in 1999. Don’s membership grew in importance because of the friendships that he formed in those 12 years—with his golfing buddies, other members, and the employees. He lived for the summers at Heritage and would have played golf every day if he could have, followed by lunch in the Men’s Grill.

Don had a positive can-do attitude. He was extremely friendly and had an engaging smile and a highly contagious laugh. He rarely complained; if he didn’t like something he fixed it or moved on. Don loved his job and was successful in his career. This was largely because his customers were also his friends and he did anything for a friend. Don surrounded himself with people who lived and loved life as he did.

The Don Greer Memorial Scholarship Fund was established to honor Don’s legacy by helping Heritage Club employees and their families, who have the same zest for life as Don, pursue their educational goals.
