Proud cannot begin to say –
How I feel about this man today.
I watched him grow from boy to man,
but God must have had a bigger plan…
He relinquished his freedom to fight for our side,
where he served with honor, dignity and pride.
Although we hurt, we cry and weep,
golden memories are ours to keep.
GOD took our hero,
who we love and respect.
Now the streets of heaven,
our Hero will protect
He spent some time on earth in hell.
He stood his watch and stood it well.
When his time on earth so abruptly ended,
many hearts broke that will never be mended.
To the Marines he was a golden gift,
to friends and family he will forever be missed.
Although we cannot change the past, nor stop the pain,
We must find strength and healing in the freedoms we gain.
One of the best damn Marines to ever protect old glory,
but that is not the end of the story.
We love you billions and we miss you even more,
I have no doubt you’ll be waiting for me at heaven’s door.
I stand so proud right here today,
to live in the great USofA.
